The Archaeological Museum, the Basilica of St Bogoroditsa Eleusta, which is located on the northern coast of Nessebar, the Church of Saint Archangels Michael and Gabriel, the Basilica of St. Sophia, St. Stephen's Church against it has a shop with natural Baltic amber, the fortress Messemvria, whose oldest remains are from the 5th century. Here you can also catch carp, red-breasted, karakuda, tolstolob and taranka. 16 km from Sunny Beach is Irakli beach. It is characterized by virgin nature and campsites. Here are plants that are listed in the Bulgarian Red Book and are protected by the Law on biodiversity. Another opportunity for recreation in the nature is camping "Lausana" located between Aheloy and Pomorie. There are bungalows and places for caravans and campers. It is near Pomorie a lake from which salt and healing mud is extracted, and not far from it is the Museum of Salt, which is the only one in Bulgaria and Eastern Europe in its way of extracting salt, through the solar evaporation of sea water. Above the lake passes Via Pontica, one of the major migratory birds in Europe. About 269 different species birds were observed in the area. There is also the "Old Pomorie Houses" reserve, as well as the "Khuata mogila", which is a typical Thracian tomb and a Roman mausoleum (heroon) of a wealthy family from Anhialo. It is built of stone and bricks and has a mushroom dome, which is why it is unique in the Balkan Peninsula. Do not miss to visit the ethnographic complex "The Golden Barrel" near the village of Bata.
