The town is located in southeastern Bulgaria, at the foot of the southern slopes of the Balkan Mountains, very close to the Sunny Beach resort, the town of Nessebar, the village of Ravda and the villa village Elenite. It stands 35 km south of Bourgas. It was founded by the Thracians and until the 14th century it was named Larissa. It is then called the Sveti Vlas of the saint who was keeper, healer, and patron of merchants. During the Ottoman rule, the registers were listed as a Monastery or Küçük Monastery. By that name they mention it and the Shkorpil brothers. The town is small, arranged, with many hotels on the beach and guest houses. In the center is the monastery "Sveti Vlasi", where they are kept the relics of St. Basil, St. Andrew and a fragment of the Lord's cross. Another monastery is St. Andrew, which also has a healing water spring. The beach of Sveti Vlas is south facing, combining the mountain air coming from the Balkan Mountains, the smell of the sea and the beautiful scenery. Not far away is the Robinson beach, which offers a rocky beach, golden sand and fine water. The beach of Elenite Resort is 800 meters long and has excellent conditions for water sports. 10 km from the town is Nessebar, whose outline you can see on the other side, standing on the shore. Walking around you will see the symbol of Nessebar Windmill, the Basilica of the Virgin Mary Eleousa, the church "St. Stephen" erected on Ribarska Street opposite the hotel of the same name and boutique "Hard" for Baltic amber and natural pearls, a little further down the street is the Amphitheater. The nose is a 60 meter steep cliff surrounded by underwater and overhanging water rocks. That's why the coast is dangerous for shipping. But this will not prevent you from enjoying the infinite sea expanse and the remains of the Emona fortress and the medieval monastery. Wonderful is the derelict area and camping Irakli, whose beach is virgin, and Poroi Dam offers a picnic and fishing. Camping Lausana, located between Aheloy and Pomorie, has bungalows and caravan and campers. Close to it is the Pomorie Lake, from which it is salt mine and healing mud, and not far from it is the Salt Museum, which is the only one in Bulgaria and Eastern Europe in its way of salt extraction through the solar evaporation of sea water.
